101st Theory of Aging

Last year a scientist here at DSB, Javier Apfeld, explained how no one really knows why, from an evolutionary perspective, we age. How is it beneficial to a species for its members to age and eventually die?

Although there are many theories, none has proven conclusive. Javier described how he is working on what he calls the “101^st theory of aging,” a wonderful phrase which I’ve appropriated as the title of this project.
