Rapture

video installation
2011

One at a time, seven frogs fall from the top of a large wall. Individually and in groups they struggle to return, swimming up while cycling from tadpole to adult. Only when they stop struggling do they ascend. A large, patient frog glides across their paths, traversing the wall perpendicular to their exertions.

Rapture was commissioned by Joe Ketner of Emerson Colleg and runs on a 60'x40' LED Wall on the facade of the refurbished Paramount Theater in downtown Boston.

In addition to the Department of Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School and the LEF Foundation, this work was supported by the MacDowell Colony, and, of course, Emerson College.
